Finished in the Montpellier red with original style period ‘COUNTY’ decals. Fitted with 4 folding steps to aid getting in/ out & Black Modular wheels with excellent BF Goodrich tyres (brand new spare) and the ever so important tow bar with electrics.
Inside the interior boasts the almost unmarked original Moorland cloth trim seats (2 seats + cubby box in front, 3 seats in middle row seats and 2 three-man bench seats to the rear) having had seat covers on from almost new!
Even the original carpets are present and in excellent condition. 100 % original interior, right down to the 23 year old, functional factory radio cassette!
Out on the road, it is no surprise that it drives very nice indeed with no unusual knocks, bangs or whines. The engine and gearbox run and operate as they should with no issues. The chassis is absolutely rock solid having no evidence of any weld, bar the replacement rear cross member which we have just replaced to avoid any weld patches.
The spec of this Defender is totally original and unmolested, unlike so many others out there.
This is a very hard to find, un-spoilt example.
Comes complete with the original hand book, service book, spare keys etc…
All in all, this is a genuine much-loved Defender in beautiful original condition which Cleary appears to have had a very easy life. Not to be confused with the usual ‘worked’ examples out there.
Land Rover has ceased production of the legendary Defender since June 2015 so prices of Defenders are rapidly rising and a great investment especially the much sought after 300 Tdi.
