Description
In the 1980s, Porsche and the 911 was a desirable sports car that unlike most of its rivals could be used daily. For the 1984 model year, the iconic Carrera name was to be seen on a standard 911 for the first time and with a new, bigger 3. 2 litre engine would now comfortably exceed 150mph.
What differentiated the 911 Carrera `Sport` model was the addition of front and rear spoilers, 16 inch Fuchs wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers and electric sports seats as standard, later variants were fitted with the much stronger G50 gearbox.
Only the second generation of Porsche to feature an electronically operated convertible roof and the first generation of 911 to feature unique colours of the roof.
The example featured here is a genuine UK Sport model Cabriolet, finished in Marine Blue Metallic with a Dark Blue Hood and a contrasting Linen leather interior, it’s a lovely, subtle colour which goes against the ‘80’s’ grain of having either a Red, White or Black exterior finish. The car was supplied new through Roger Clark Cars of Leicestershire in April 1988.
The car has been serviced at the recommended intervals by a combination of Official Porsche centres and marques specialists.
The factory-supplied specification per the supplied Porsche Certificate of Authenticity was as follows:
UK C16 Sport Coupe with recoil bumpers, Heavy Duty Windscreen Cleaning System, Headlamp Washers, Blaupunkt Toronto Radio cassette, Central Locking, Sports Seats with Electric Height Adjustment, Forged Alloy Wheels, Anti Theft Device, Power Operated Hood, Front and Rear Spoilers, Sport Shock Absorbers, Luggage Compartment Trimmed in Black Velour Carpet.
A really sharp looking 80’s 911 that drives as well as it looks. Please call today to register your interest.
