We changed the oil and filter, transmission fluid and filter, and checked and lubed the chassis. We also replaced the selector seal in the transmission, power steering control valve, power steering hoses, sway bar links, leaf spring bushings, rear shocks, rear brake calipers, tongue bushing, rubber fuel hoses, strut rod bushings, trailing arm bushings, rebuilt the carburetor, and much more. The previous owner replaced the front brake calipers, brake hoses, and master cylinder, and much more over the years she owned it.
In 1979 there were only 6, 853 corvettes produced with pace car spoilers, and 6, 707 produced in corvette red out of 53, 807 total production.
1979 was the highest production year for the C3 generation of the corvette.
