Built on genuine sports chassis with original ulster bowed sports front axle
and very rare large banjo rear axle
Axle ratio 5. 6:1. Car comes with heritage certificate verifying chassis type
Body made in late 80’s by Keith Roach (very high standard)
Aluminium body steel wings, folding vinyl hood
All instruments and gauges are originals not repro’s all working, great detailing
5 newly rebuilt 19” wheels (rims and spokes) power coated, fitted with new little used triple stud Longstone tyres 3. 50 x 19
ENGINE
2 bearing coil engine
Pressure fed crank (not Phoenix)
Renault 4 rods and pistons
Modern high volume oil pump
Block ported with larger inlet valves
Recent Paul Bonewell sports camshaft with re radius cam followers
Late Ruby high compression head further skimmed for even more compression
Bosch distributor
12volt dynamo conversion
1 ¼” SU carb
Ulster exhaust system - manifold could be original ulster
Engine has had a recent rebuild early 2018
Regrind of crank
New main bearings and big end shells
New piston rings
3 speed gear box with Ulster ratios
New clutch plates and springs
Recent Hardy Spicer prop shaft
Hydraulic front brakes with cable rear brakes
Slightly lowered springs, so car sits nicely
Correct steering box (not wedged)
Pneumatic seat cushions, leather seats.
Car has VSCC Buff form in previous owner’s name, which states that it could be on a genuine original Ulster chassis, Austin supplied their sports rolling chassis to other coachbuilders, this could be another possibility.
This not your usual amateur home-built Ulster creation, it needs to be seen to be appreciated.
