The Facel 2 that we present to you was built in October 1962 and ordered in the USA by the local agent Mr Hoffman from New York. Silver-grey with red leather interior, it is equipped with a 3 speed automatic gearbox "torqueflite", Borrani wire wheels and air-conditioning option. The Facel left the USA and landed in Finland in the 1990s. It is then sold to an English amateur in 2001 who entrusts his car for restoration to a Dutch garage. It is repainted in burgundy red and the interior is now magnolia. In 2002 she changes hands and remains in Holland until 2013 and changes color for this beautiful iridescent blue that dresses her today. The current collector, Mr. M, bought the car in 2015 and registered it in Belgium. Mr. M will never stop taking care of his superb car. In February 2017, the gearbox and ignition system will be overhauled (invoice of 6400 €) and in September 2017, a major general overhaul by the garage "Amicale Facel Vega Holland B. V." will be carried out for more than 17 000 € on invoice. There is no doubt that the car was very well maintained, and our test drive will confirm this. Contact, engine and a soft rumble escapes from the exhaust. Gear lever on D and the fabulous machine will move effortlessly. The V8 is powerful and torquey, yet there's no need to get the 355 hp available to appreciate our test drive. The brakes work perfectly and are enough to stop the 1600 kg machine. There's no doubt that Jean Daninos has achieved a vision that in 2020 is still modern in today's traffic. The prowess of the compromise between an American V8, an English finish, the behaviour of an Italian and the chic of a Parisian evening dress.
