1965 Lotus Cortina Mk1
This is an original standard specification Lotus Cortina, first registered 1st January 1965 with only 4 registered owners, the last since 2010.
This Lotus is fitted with aluminium door panels, it has leaf sprung rear suspension and still retains the ‘A’ frame boot area struts.
We have recently carried out an extensive recommissioning due to very limited recent mileage. The front suspension and steering has been poly bushed, brakes reconditioned with new master cylinder and servo, we have just stripped out the engine and refitted it with the modified ‘Burton’ water pump conversion. We have just completed a 600 mile ‘running in’ period and re-torqued the cylinder head and adjusted the engine running.
We have invoices dating back to 1991 including a copy invoice dated 1992 reference to a bare shell sand blast, replacement of panels and respray, and the car presents very well today. It is fitted with a working, period radio.
This Lotus is in lovely original condition and drives very well. It also has an interesting history documented in the owner’s handbook.
