My Fiat Panda is up for sale sadly. It has been a wonderful project to work on and play with during lockdown, and a real joy to nip around the lanes in on a sunny day, but it is time for it to go to another home.
During my ownership I have given it a complete service (oil, spark plugs, air filter, coolant), rebuilt the rear brakes, welded a small patch up on one of the sills, about the size of the palm of your hand, for which I have pictures of the work to prove, stone chipped and re-sprayed the lower (grey) half, sourced and fitted a new tailgate which I sprayed to match the rest of the car (the original, albeit very rusty will go with the car too), fitted a new bonnet release cable, 4 brand new winter tyres, had the wheels refurbished, and finally put it through its first MOT since 1985!
Overall its a wonderfully original Panda, both inside and out, the interior is in amazing condition and benefited from a good clean but nothing else. It even has the hammock back seat!
Mechanically it's great and runs and drives fantastically, as you would expect for a car with just over 21, 000 miles on the clock.
Structurally it has no rust, just the tailgate was bad. However there are quite a few small patches off surface rust on the body where the paint has flaked off, from which you can see in the photos, I can't stress enough how these genuinely are nothing more than surface rust, there are no holes whatsoever.
I took the decision not to respray the whole car as I love originality and I think this Panda has wonderful patina, so all I have done is oil the patches of surface rust to preserve them.
