Description

Daimler-Benz had always been known for luxury and sophisticated technology but the first post-war model, the 170 V only partly met those expectations. With the release of the Mercedes 220 in July 1951, the old virtues returned. Especially the new six-cylinder engine drew a lot of attention and praise, and rightfully so. Keeping with tradition, the model 220 was available as a 2- and 4-seater convertible A and B.

Our Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet A was built in 1952, the first full production year of this model. It was completely restored several years ago and is licensed in Germany. Since its overhaul, it has only been driven for 9, 000 kilometers. Only 2, 270 cars of the Cabriolet A and B were built so it was and is a very unusual and striking model!
