Description
Mercedes 220D from 1972.
MOT valid.
Only the bodywork would need a little attention.
Body 123, 500 km or 223, 500 km? (Five‑digit odometer).
Engine rebuilt from the ground up.
Engine oil change and filters okay – axle and gearbox drained – fuel tank drained and cleaned as well – brake fluid replaced – brakes new – cooling radiator new – four Michelin “collection” tyres new – shock absorbers new – battery new – Interior completely dismantled and cleaned, floors and chassis exceptionally sound.
Now close your eyes for a moment and let yourself be transported back in time.
Grab the handle and open the driver's door to settle in.
The interior of the car that has traversed the years with aplomb is in immaculate condition and the seats are not sagging: they offer a level of comfort that perhaps isn’t found in some new cars… all without objectivity ;-)
Pull the small preheating lever toward you for a moment until the pepper mill reddens and start, hot or cold, in any weather.
The engine, with relative quiet, rumbles to life and runs like a German clock.
The classy instrument cluster with chromed bezels shows, in addition to speed, oil pressure, engine water temperature, fuel level and only the clock, in the centre, doesn’t work.
Close the door, heavy and solid, with a satisfying clack that smells of Deutsche Qualität!
You can travel comfortably aboard with four people on any distance.
Its cool look leaves no one indifferent.
Price of the time capsule: €9, 300!
No email or text messages, let’s talk in person – passionate classic car collectors welcome!
