Extremely rare AP1 facelift Lime Green S2000 for sale - Unicorn!
With deep regret, I'm listing my Lime Green 2004 facelifted AP1 S2000 for sale due to a recent house purchase, and need to reduce my car/ motorbike collection.
This colour was only available as a cost option (alongside Imola Orange) between 2002-2004. The colour was discontinued due to lack of popularity at the time, as only seven were ever ordered! Seems it is one of just four left in the UK, the other three having been written off. I'd be very surprised if another came up for same in the next few years. This is an extraordinarily rare shade which was once also an option for the Honda NSX. It is certainly an eye catching alternative to the many Moonrock, Silverstone, and Nurburgring blue cars out there!
I've enjoyed around 22, 000 miles over five years with this car and spent a considerable amount ensuring it has stayed in excellent condition. Service history intervals as below;

Additional work I have had carried out on the car as follows;
November 2016 - Iridium spark plugs, drop links, Brembo brake pads all round, compression check of engine - all cylinders OK, front caliper refresh.
May 2018 - 4x Eagle F1 tyres and full alignment
June 2018 - Genuine Honda battery
June 2018 - Full paint refresh, sill rust removed, treated and arches undersealed. This was carried out over a 4 week period at TGM Sport by Tom & Will. I'll let the photos speak for themselves regards to the thoroughness and outstanding quality of this work! £1800 spent.
July 2018 - Major service interval, valve clearance at TGM Sport + all fluids refreshed, Iridium spark plugs, gearbox and diff oil changed, Tegiwa sports cat installed to replace the original - these shatter and rattle in situ if not replaced. £925 spent.
November 2019 - New mohair hood installed. This car keeps the driver completely dry unlike some that suffer the known leaky shoulder problem! Cost £330.
July 2020 - Purchase and installation of full Koni dampers and new springs, assembled and installed by Performance Autoworks. MOT and wheel alignment carried out at the same time. New front discs, calipers, Brembo brake pads and brake fluid. New drop links. Cost £1400. Front bolts removed, regreased and replaced.
Throughout my ownership I have kept the car in a secure garage and used it sparingly in good weather conditions. For a 16 year old car the underside is in very good condition and there is NO rust in the arch/ sill area due to the preventative work done. I've kept a close eye on the oil and topped this up as needed, but unlike some S2000's mine doesn't consume much at all - In fact I'm confident this car will go on to double the mileage easily.
Cosmetically the car is in incredible condition, the paintwork is really gleaming on a sunny day. The black leather interior is likewise in very good condition with no rips or tears, with only minor wear to the driver's side seat bolster, commensurate with age and use.
The suspension, steering and general driving experience has never been better following the Koni suspension upgrade. The alloys were refurbished in 2019 in gunmetal grey and are unmarked. The previous owner to me fitted a carbon airbox which gives a pleasing induction sound, but nothing obtrusive, and I've decided to leave this installed.
This car has given me immense pleasure and enjoyment over the past five years - it has taken me on the Scottish NC500, dozens of weekends away and road trips around the country, and into Wales numerous times and not once has it skipped a beat. The retro digital dash, short ratio gearbox and of course the screaming engine all come together to make these cars and particularly this one a very special driving experience, and I'll sorely miss taking it out.
Conveniently, being a 2004 reg, the car comes into the lower tax bracket. It is MOT'd for a full year to 24/ 07/ 2021 with zero advisories.
The advert photos were taken when I took the car to be displayed at the Birmingham NEC classic car show in 2019 with the fantastic owner's club, S2KUK, which I'd thoroughly recommend the new owner to become a member of, they are a resourceful and friendly group of enthusiasts.
