Introduced in 1935 in reply to the Citroen Traction, the Peugot 402 offered a very innovative design inspired by streamline design. Its line, which was exceptionally fluid for the time, broke with Peugeot's usual style, while the chassis and mechanics remained very conventional. It had been produced until 1941, offering a complete range from sedans to convertibles and coaches.
The example presented is a limousine with a manual gearbox. It belonged to an inhabitant of Blagnac, in the Haute-Garonne, in the 50s. It had benefited from an older restoration in which the burgundy paint and the fabric upholstery were redone. The indicator arrows have been removed. Sound and well preserved overall, it deserves some care before heading back on the road. It will allow its new owner to drive aboard a high-performance, original and reliable prewar car… as the ad said: "Peugeot, the quality that we don't discuss!".
We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been little used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require recommissioning before being driven on the public roads.
Estimate: 6 000 - 9 000 €
