For sale is my 1989 Helios Blue MK2 Golf GL 1800 Auto.
I originally purchased the car with plans for an engine conversion and fast road setup, after living with the car for a few months I feel it would be a shame to do this as the car is simply just to original and clean for its age. So I have decided to sell the car and hope that a keen enthusiast can get the enjoyment out of it.
The car is very original with only 32k original miles on the clock, the car comes equipped with many optional extras from the factory such as power steering, Central locking, Bumper mounted headlamp washers, Electric windows, Electric wing mirrors, Rear privacy blinds and Panasonic Radio (very cool).
The car has had a couple of minor upgrades, thankfully none that are cosmetic. These upgrades consist of a MK2 GTI 16v/ G60 Brake master cylinder/ servo, Goodridge braided stainless brake lines throughout, Weber 32/ 34 Carb (goes like stink) and Bosch Performance HT leads.
The car has recently had a major service where all fluids and filters have been renewed, engine, gearbox, coolant, power steering etc. During this service the car also got a new set of Uniroyal RainSport 3 tyres, Power steering pump, wheel bearings, Timing belt / PAS belt / AUX belt, sump gaskets, valve cover gasket and a wheel alignment.
The exterior condition of the car is fair/ honest for its age, there is no rust on the car top or bottom but there are a few age related marks, the car is a 90’s spec GL with the bigger bumpers and painted in the beautiful Helios Blue. The car is also sporting its original wheels from the factory and the interior condition is fantastic.
I have all the original Books for the car and original key set, also supplied will be the extensive history of the vehicle such as MOT certificates and previous recites of parts and work carried out, the car will also be sold with a fresh MOT certificate and is able to be driven away at any point.
