LOT NO. 617
1934 Singer Nine Le Mans
Estimate: £20, 000 - £25, 000
(+ buyers premium of 11% + VAT)
Capitalising on the success of their Nine Sports at the famous French race track in 1933, Singer started to produce the lowered, lightened and tuned Nine Le Mans the following year
With a 972 cc single overhead camshaft engine, twin carbs, rear-wheel drive, and a 4-speed gearbox with synchro on third and top, the diminutive Le Mans had a reputation as a great driver's car
This smart example was purchased by its previous owner shortly after a full restoration in 1993
It joined our vendor's collection in 2016 and has only been used occasionally since
In British Racing Green with red leather, wire wheels, red drums, racing fuel filler, a mesh grille, twin spare wheels, a badge bar, chrome luggage rack, wooden dash, a Bluemells wheel and a leather bonnet strap, this little Singer roadster is simply picture-perfect
