Honda Dax, 1975 as seen on Wheeler Dealers, Dream Cars, with Lifan 110cc engine fitted.
Mileage – 11459 Miles only
TAX and MOT exempt . The V5 is in my name.
Condition – Excellent.
I brought this bike last summer from Mike Brewer as part of his show new show Wheeler Dealers, Dream Cars. The bike had been stripped down and the body work had had a full professional respray with new decals. The seat had been refurbished by an upholstery trimmer using Elvis’s old jacket! It really finishes the bike off as a unique one-off feature including saddle pocket! However, production time pressures meant that the bike was not fully finished as the electrics were not the best and a few other bits need sorting. After a good look over, it really appealed as an ideal winter project and so a deal was done that reflected the work that needed to be done to complete its restoration. I have loved the chance to work on this unique Monkey bike which is a bit of a TV celebrity, but now it’s done I am eying my next project so it’s time to move the this one to a new home to be cherished and enjoyed.
The restoration works that I have carried out to complete the bike include;
• New front brake lever and cable fitted.
• New brake front and rear.
• New standard indicators fitted as it came with tiny LED indicators which did not work.
• Universal switch gear for lights and indicators fitted.
• Rewired all lights, indicators horn etc., now everything works
• Exhaust pipe has been rechromed as it was rather scabby, now looks fantastic
• Resprayed engine to black matt.
The bike now looks great the tyres are good with plenty of tread on them.
The bike always starts first kick and runs a treat with no issues.
It has non original handlebars fitted which I think are better, the originals will come with the bike.
The only thing wrong with the bike is it won’t turn off on the key but that’s easily got round by stalling the bike. I am really pleased with how this has turned out and I am sure will go on to provide years of trouble free classic biking!
