Singer 1936 Le Mans Special Speed Model
Singer named the model after its success at Le Mans 1933. However their main successes was in Trail competitions.
The 1936 model, with the underslung suspension and improved steering is the best year for the Le Mans series.
It has recently had a complete mechanical rebuild after spending 30 + years In Singapore.
Bill Tull a respected Singer expert, completed a rebuild of
Carburettor,
new fuel pump,
new stainless steel exhaust,
a repair to the engine block,
new pistons,
white metalling the crank, rods and line boring the block
Steering box overhaul
New engine mounts,
new dynamo,
head skimmed,
new valves,
rebuilt valve rockers and pillars.
New clutch,
replacement chain tensioner,
rebuilt Speedo and Tachometer.
New starter motor.
Brake overhaul.
Rebuilt wiper motor.
New bulkhead and flooring.
Replacement 1/ 2 shaft.

All the other instruments work and it did not get hot even in this summers heatwave.
It can also be seen on the Singer Le Mans Car SOS episode in Bill Tulls workshop.
It has older paint work that is showing its age in place. However this is only apparent from closer that a couple of feet. It in a strange way enhances this iconic prewar sports car as It can be used without fear of a errant stones.
