This Alfa Romeo was assembled originally by the well-known pre-war British Alfa-Romeo concessionaire ?Fred Stiles? for his own personal use. It retains its original body, the only body that has ever been on this chassis. It was first UK road-registered as long ago as 1938, and the original-style buff logbook documentation that confirms previous ownerships.
One of only a handful of Alfa Romeo Works race engines ever made.
All running gear and suspension rebuilt including uprated rear axle shafts.
Gearbox fully rebuilt with new gears and bearings etc,
Engine fully rebuilt and new cylinder block made by HCS (and 6 extras all supplied to other owners of original Testa Fissa cars)
Blower fully rebuilt with new rotors etc,
Very fast indeed. Stops extremely well and will actually lock up all four wheels at speed if needed.
The car is offered with a well-presented history file that contains V5 Registration document, old style log books, and much correspondence. A full photo documented rebuild of the engine in minute detail comes with the car. Also included in the sale is a copy of Baylis?s autobiography where FGU 108 is prominently featured and illustrated.
