One of 250 express yellow 205 Rallye’s made; exclusively for the UK market, this is a slightly watered down version of the coveted EU Rallye 1. 3 albeit rarer.
This particular car is among the very best you will ever come across, in all the aspects that really let down a 205, this car shines.
The body is very, very good with no significant defects, the underneath is extremely dry and free from usual rust and wax oil bodgery- refreshing to see such an honest and unabused example.
The underbody and wheel arches are still in their factory sealer with yellow body colour paint (when was the last time you saw that on a 30 year old car) without corrosion and without previous repairs and under sealing.
The boot floor is also free from rust, both on top and underneath on the rear box section.
The car drives beyond what your expectations for a 30 year old Peugeot could do, the engine is a gem; far, far better than any review could have informed you. Allegedly making 75hp but feels every single one of those HP and more.
The gearbox is a delight and extremely precise and smooth to operate with no crunches or groans as they all did/ do.
The brakes stop you as a modern hatch would, again not sure that’s normal for an old Peugeot?
The handling is as you’d expect; sublime! Better than a contemporary hatch for feel and thrill, you feel everything the car is doing beneath you. The steering is extremely quick with 1. 5 turns from centre to lock; this is aided with a very, very neat and unobtrusive electronic power steering unit (Sacrilege I hear you scream) this is adjustable and completely on/ off and so only enhances the experience and never hinders.
The interior is pretty good for a 30 year old car that has been enjoyed and only suffers minor rips to the infamously brittle Rallye seat material- this is as we call it ‘patina’ or charm.
The seats are fanatically comfortable and hold you surprisingly well.
The original Peugeot stereo is still fit and functioning in the car all these years on.
The wheels are colour coded express yellow 205 specific Rallye steel wheels, all immaculate inc spare wheel, tyres are all premium Goodyear with Pirelli spare.
The car has the original service book with stamps from day one, this in itself is extremely rare in a car of this age.
For many years I had searched for one and after viewing probably half a dozen utter turds I gave up; this is beyond doubt the most attractive entry into a UK 205 Rallye- non of the usual rust and modifications that ruin them .

Selling as I just don’t have time to enjoy it and cherish it as I feel it deserves.
