Welcome to the reluctant sale of my piece of MINI history. This is the 4th R53 JCW ever made with incredible provenance to add.
The car was originally supplied to John Cooper Works (JCG) on 01/ 01/ 2003, with the registration SW02 RKS. There, it was used as a demonstrator at the dealership, where besides regular demonstration duties it also saw countless media interactions. This car is no stranger to Press photos, books, International Magazine features, including Evo Magazine as well as being on a DVD.
Once it’s time as a demonstrator was up, before being sold by John Cooper Works, it was given to Top Gear, where it was driven by Richard Hammond in a MINI Tuning Group test. This is the first time it was seen wearing its current registration, HN52 TEJ.
Anyway, moving on from the geeky bits... the car has covered just over 82, 500 miles, quite low for an early S Works ! It benefits from full service history, in addition to a folder of chronologically ordered paperwork.
The MOT expires on 12th January 2022, so the lucky buyer will be able to enjoy it straight away with piece of mind if they choose to. The only advisories were slightly dirty brake pipes, as well as scored brake discs, from lack of use.
Since owning the car, I have slowly restored it back to fantastic condition, it needs very little to be perfect ! The R90 wheels were split and refurbished correctly, then wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, which haven’t seen much use. I would like these to go with the car, though I would be willing to let the car go for a cheaper price if you wanted it without the wheels seen in the photos and on Top Gear/ Evo magazine. I could supply a set of S Spokes, seen in press photos, instead.
Good R53’s, especially JCW’s are only appreciating in value, therefore this very special car is a great investment for any enthusiast or collector. There are very few R53’s with this level of provenance and historical significance.
Feel free to contact me if you’d like to see the Top Gear footage or any of the magazine features, etc. I could talk about the car eternally ! It took me 3 years to track it down, I’m selling it due to a new and more sensible daily driver being on it’s way, as well as a project car which I’ve always wanted.
I am open to close offers. I have priced with guidance from conversations with JCW enthusiasts and collectors as well as results from the most similar cars that have come to market.
