We are delighted to present for sale this smart Series 3 Land Rover®, finished in Sky Blue with white wheels and sand canvas. Externally, there are lots of desirable features – the razor edge bonnet, vintage numberplates, rear grabhandles and recent canvas all set the look off well. There are some modern additions, such as the towball with electrics to allow towing, a working rear spotlight for evening work or reversing and defender-style door mirrors for additional visibility behind. The vehicle sits on a set of recent cross-climate Michelin 750s – an expensive and excellent tyre set which should prove to be hard wearing and give unrivalled off and on road ability, whilst also giving a strong stance. The bodywork is finished in Sky Blue, which looks to be a spray finish, which we have polished and detailed. We think, in our opinion, this is a very handsome Land Rover® indeed.
The interior is largely standard – the dash is in particularly good condition and has not suffered from the sun cracking that many have. There are 3 front deluxe seats, with deluxe matting to the footwells. Both front doors benefit from deluxe door cards too, to give a more luxurious feel. The rear is unfitted, with just a load mat to the floor area to protect against scratches. Bench seats could be fitted for £350 if desired to give seating for seven people including the driver.
Out on the road, this Series 3 gives a great period driving experience – larger rubber gives better gearing over standard, and the engine is a fit unit which pulls nicely. Free Wheeling Hubs aid the economy and limit any wear to the front axle. It feels well sorted – a credit to previous owners – and drives as well as possible for one of these vintage trucks.
