We are very pleased to offer this 1961 E type on behalf of a customer

This car was built on the 14th October 1961 and sent to Belgium to its first owner (liege provence) but he was a very tall man and traded the car back in for a mk2 saloon within a month. Carl Ahn owned the dealership and bought the car personally and it was used sparingly and kept in his ownership until he passed in 1999, it was then bought in 2001 by the Jaguar Belgium director of sales and marketing again only used for some jaguar European runs and was bought by the current owner in 2015.

The above is a very brief history but as you can see its had very few owners and because of this it is one of the most original cars we have seen. As you would imagine its a matching numbers car and looking through the history believe the 90k showing on the speedo to be correct. There are a lot of the early features that particular to the 61 cars still on this car welded in louver bonnet, early radiator and header tank, smooth sump, original cabs with tags, butler number plate lights, dated wiper motor, dated tag on master cylinder, early rear hubs and driveshafts, original tool roll, original shelly jack and handles the list goes on.

We have rebuilt the car and have tried hard to keep the balance of originality with this special car. The engine, gearbox and rear subframe have all been rebuilt, the body was stripped back to bare metal and we were surprised that no welding was needed it still has its original panels fitted. It had a protective coating applied underneath and was then painted in the gunmetal grey and built up with as much original components as we could. The car has completed 300-400 miles of testing and has had all the oils refreshed so is ready to go.
