Both the engine and transmission were stripped and rebuilt in 2003 and many ancillaries bear the proper Ford numbered parts which afficionados recognise as testimony to uncompromised, correct procedures. The car has continued to be cherished, and only due to age-jaded paintwork, was stripped and repainted to an exceptionally high standard 7 years ago in its original Rangoon Red.
