The Lancia Delta Turbo HF Integrale began its period of domination in 1987, winning the Monte Carlo Rally and the Constructors' World Rally Championship every year until 1992. The Lancia Delta 4WD in the sale is a Group N factory car built in 1986 and, as most 4WD and off-road versions were, modified to become an Integrale. There are various documents in the file, such as a copy of the Targa, the Foglio Complementare, annual Italian tax receipts and the log book, confirming that TO 55064F was registered in the name of Fiat Auto S. P. A Abarth. This was at the same time as a handful of Group A and Group N Lancia that competed in the WRC. According to the vendor, our Delta was initially consigned or sold to University Motors to be prepared for Group N competition. It would have taken part in reconnaissance for the Monte Carlo Rally in 1987, testing tyres for Pirelli with three Group A cars on the Col de la Machine with Alessandro Fiorio, who would go on to become World Champion in 1987 in Group N driving a Lancia Delta. The vendor has told us that at the start of 1988 the car was loaned to the Jolly Club team for reconnaissance or to serve as a back-up car. In 1988, it moved to the Tre Gazelle team, that later became Gamma Racing, who entered the car in the Adria Rally, driven by Pavan/ Tobaldi, an Italian police team. According to an exchange with the Automobile Club de Monaco, the car is also believed to have taken part in the Monte Carlo Rally (to be verified). In 1989, it participated in the Targa Florio with Sardina Santi, in a race on the Vallelunga circuit in the hands of Amodeo and in the Piancatello Rally driven by an all-female crew Donatella Vicenzi/ Corredig. Its last event, in 1990, was the Azzano Rally, in Gamma Racing colours (original Targa) with Boer/ Vazzoler. The Log Book CSAI #07051 provides confirmation of five of these rallies, and correspondence between the owner and two eminent specialists, Enrico Masala and Giorgio Delcre is included in the file. In 1991, TO 55064F was repainted in Martini Racing livery by the official painter " Nitro " as the World Championship-winning car of Biasion / Siviero. The current owner bought it from the navigator of the late Attilio Begetta, the driver who lost his life in the 1985 Tour de Corse at the wheel of an 037. Gaston Racing have overhauled the engine (camshafts/ valves, fuel pump, brakes, tyres) in order to ensure it was running, but it remains in totally original condition, having never been modified, apart from a change of paintwork. This Lancia is ideal for taking part in Historic rallies, in the Tour de Corse for example, offering the potential for enjoyment and investment.
