That’s quite a spec, what else would one need? More generally, the body and paintwork are in good condition, a few small bubbles and light blemishes but nothing of concern. The underside – chassis and floorpans – is very nice indeed – one of the best we have seen - with no corrosion at all (see photos). The hood is as-new, the interior is smart – with a good wood dash (one split to the vinyl) and comfortable leather seats with built-in headrests; a nice place to be.
On the road this is a really nice, strong TR, as one might expect from the spec. A well-sorted car, handling nicely with none of the reputed ‘twitchy’ rear-end of the 4a, and well set-up for road-rallying and/ or touring. The 16, 000+ miles driven in recent years is genuinely confidence-inspiring!
In summary, a very good TR4a. Built-up to a high specification for comfortable and reliable touring, then well-maintained and used properly! In addition, a Home-market car with plenty of history, a good touring spares pack, Thor hammer and spare key set and freshly checked over in our workshop.
