This car has been for sale several times, and I was the last person to buy it. I collected it from someone in Kent, but unfortunately on the journey back it suffered a failed rear shock absorber.
As it is, it runs and drives, but will have to be collected by trailer.
Low mileage of 64k, although the odometer is starting to bleed out. Odd base spec 156 with steel wheels, cloth (not velour) seats, manual rear windows but with air con (which doesn't work) and a rare sunroof (which does work!).
I was hoping to fix this car up as it drove surprisingly well when I was able to, the clutch feels in good health, as do the brakes and performance, although it refused to warm up so presumably the thermostat is past its best. Everything inside worked, air con aside, although the original stereo is paired with some utterly ruined speakers.
The bodywork is also poor. Dents all over, faded paint, poor weld repairs (albeit sold, just ugly) on the sills, lacquer lifting, warped looking rear bumper etc.... but it looked pretty solid underneath.
The tyres were new looking, although where the shock absorber failed it started to rub away the inner edge of the offside rear. So that is now in need of replacement.
Engine seems in good health, no leaks whatsoever and the engine bay looks superb. I would say there is a slight variator rattle on immediate start up, so that may need doing. Ample space under the bonnet being the 1. 8.
Two keys.
No service history. Disappointing.
V5 is old style and has caused me headaches. I can give you what the person I bought it off gave to me, and it should be able to be taxed in the post office.
For sale as I cannot own a project at my address, and I am taking a break from Alfas and all things Italian.
