EXTERIOR
Having resided on Japan’s unsalted roads since new, this handsome 4-litre Sport remains in excellent rust-free condition throughout, especially to the underside. Tastefully upgraded with larger wheels and tyres, raised suspension and flared arches, she really looks the part. The solid black paintwork presents to a great standard with a deep glossy shine following a machine polish by our in-house detailer. All the plastics remain in fantastic order and the bolt-on arches still appear very fresh indeed, the only real negatives to report being a dusting of light frontal stone chips and one or two carefully touched-in marks.
INTERIOR
The Khaki Santana cloth presents really well with no signs of heavy use, especially to the seat bolsters which remain entirely undamaged. The steering wheel is in excellent original condition, as are the door cards and centre console, with only some very light marking on the passenger-side dash fascia to report. The carpets throughout are free from any stains and the air conditioning is nice and cold. All in all, a very sound and highly original interior, the only upgrade over standard being an aftermarket touchscreen head unit.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Sport's 4-litre straight-six starts up first turn of the key and idles smoothly up to temperature. Lifting the bonnet the engine bay is very clean and tidy, not overly dressed but in excellent original condition with no signs of any rust, damage or previous poor repair.
The diff and 4x4 system all work as they should, although given the condition of the vehicle they have probably seen little use. The automatic gearbox operates well and handles the engine's power perfectly through the gears. Since arriving with us the car has been fully inspected and freshly serviced for the new keeper’s peace of mind.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
At some point this Wrangler has been treated to a brand new set of Pro Comp alloys, which look fantastic in matte black; wrapped in a matching set of 265/ 70R15 tyres they set the car off beautifully. The brakes have just been checked and remain in fine operational condition, stopping the car quickly and in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
First registered in Japan in August 2003 this attractive TJ Wrangler Sport has now driven just 92k miles. It has only very recently landed in the UK with all taxes and duties paid on entry. Since arriving with us the car has been mechanically inspected and serviced accordingly, ready for its next adventure. A limited amount of paperwork is available with the car but the condition really speaks for itself. UK registration will be carried out prior to sale.
