Bought in May 2020 as a summer project and spent some time making it just about road legal. I got it with 34k miles from a known breaker/ dealer who got it from the family of the original owner, so it is, in theory, a 1 previous owner car.
It's had:
- Plugs
- Leads
- Various bulbs
- Dipped beam relay
- New brake pads and fluid
- Loads of welding
- 4x Toyo tyres
- Thorough coolant flush
- 4 new speakers (one has recently died though)
- Wipers
- Exhaust hanger
- Alternator belt
- Master cylinder
- Thermostat
Etc.
Does want some work doing.
- Brakes are not great, need bleeding I think. Comes with new cylinders.
- Needs atleast a pair of front shocks
- Throttle response can feel laggy especially when cold, think it's to do with the piston in the dashpot.
- Headlining is very very poor
- Leaks water in above the windscreen on the passenger side
- Hole at the top of the fuel filler neck, could be bodged but also not a hard part to manufacture yourself if you are capable.
- Car has had lots of welding done underneath and is completely solid, but rust is just setting in under the windscreen. If you didn't fancy fixing it, you could cover it for the MOT and it would still pass.
MOT til 18th April 2022. This is not a mint car, and I'm not trying to put anyone under any illusions, but it is a useable retro daily driver. I covered 5000 miles in this in 2 months, driving to Manchester and back daily, aswell as Hartlepool, Bristol, Folkestone and it's even crossed tower bridge. It is genuinely a solid little car that can be used as is, but would benefit from a bit of work. Full service history from new including original sales documents. I kept track of every receipt for every single purchase I made related to the car.
