We are delighted to present for sale this previously restored Series 2a Land Rover®, presented in the original Deep Bronze Green colour scheme, with sand canvas and Limestone Wheels.
Externally, the appearance is largely standard – the vintage numberplates, recent front bumper, bonnet mounted spare, wingtop mounted mirrors, recent canvas, rear grab handles and (very rare) and now obsolete yellow Land Rover® mudflaps – a near £500 item themselves! There are some modern additions, such as the towbar with electrics to allow towing. It is great to see the bodywork is of a spray type finish too. The culmination of all these items does, in our opinion, make a very handsome looking period vehicle.
On the inside, the standard theme continues – there are 3 standard front seats, which are recent items, with deluxe door cards and matting to the footwells. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a rear load mat, but could house bench seats on request for £395, to bring the capacity up to seven occupants including the driver.
Out on the road, this old girl delivers a pleasing period driving experience – it has lighter than usual steering due to smaller tyres, and this also aids acceleration. The Weber Carburettor gives a little extra power over standard to make things a little easier too. These rebuilt vehicles have a habit of feeling well sorted, and this one is no different.
In summary, if you are looking for a rebuilt Series 2a Land Rover®, either to pass down through the family or to keep for investment, then this is well worth considering. With classic insurance and MOT & Tax Exemption, it should prove cost-effective to run and live with, whilst also looking the part… it turns many heads as you drive along, and adoring glances and waves alike.
