1987 Jaguar XJS Coupe. (Fantastic Example) Just reduced 3.4K For Sale

Watchers do not miss out, this car will go soon, I'm away next week and won't be monitoring emails and texts. Selling due to imminent hip surgery. First to see this car will definitely buy it, I'm certain of that. Look at others then come and see this one ! Car was featured, (two page write up) in Octobers edition of the Jaguar Enthusiasts magazine and will be again in next months April edition, which highlights my final extensive complexed work, which I had to wait 18 months to get booked in. This car genuinely is a fantastic example, don't want to sell without anyone viewing first ideally, I am so proud of what has been achieved and the way it drives.
I sadly cannot keep it because too much football has left me needing a hip replacement. Any inspection welcome the more thorough the better, I am very proud of this car and want the next owner to appreciate fully what a good XJS this is. Please read all this advertisement, it's taken a lot of time and effort to get this car to where it is today. When purchased it was good then with no rot. Came from a very good home where previous owner had been meticulous as I have been too.
Reduced twice and had no interest, perplexed? A lot of bad ones out there but this certainly is not.
As rare as hens teeth were the words that one mechanic gave me, (referring to condition in particular no corrosion); when he assessed it after my initial purchase five years ago.
The car stands me a lot of money, fortunately it's a good one and must be seen before anyone buys, to fully appreciate.
Just knocked off another £3500 this morning (14th March 2024) and if it does not sell I will lock away for the future because these cars will only go one way - and that's up in value.
Why it's not happened yet baffles me. So read all below and this is a no offer price now, it's giving it away.
All documents available for perusal and the car is also available anytime for viewing and test drive. Mot'd and ready for the next lucky owner.

For sale this XJS in very good condition.
Silver Birch. Interior nice colour combination too.
Wheels all recently professionally refurbished July 2023. (Not on the drive at home, taken to a specialist that only do this).
This car had a 20K back to bare metal re build carried out by reputable restorer in 1999 / 2000.
Full comprehensive service history.
Expenditure since my ownership (last five years) is in excess of 5K.
Invoices available for most of work.
Just prior to my purchase previous owner spent £1431. 06 on re commissioning. (2018)
I have the invoice for this too.

RH Fan runs in high speed only
Fans do not run when defrost selected
No heat to cabin
Upper servo motor not holding position

No air from centre vent when cool mode selected
Compressor clutch engages when climate control switched on. This is a concern as it is debatable whether there is any gas in the system. Original R12 Charge points still fitted.

Checked operation of temperature control switch. Sketchy. Unplugged connector from harness to switch. Terminals slightly corroded, cleaned. Reconnect and test. Temperature control switch now operational.
Tested Climate control in all modes. Functioned as required. (No air con due to compressor clutch relay removed)
Despite mixer flaps operating correctly and matrix receiving full flow from engine, discharge into cabin was not hot enough when full heat selected.

Initial assessment. Instrument binnacle.

Several previous attempts had been made to repair the original instrument binnacle. A valiant but forlorn 3rd party repair had been made to the printed circuit including soldered repairs and hard wiring. Unfortunately this had not had the desired effect and the binnacle failed to function in various modes.

Actions.
Once the original binnacle had been removed and inspected it was decided that the only feasible option was to replace it with a functioning unit.
A potential problem with Pauls car was that it was factory fitted with a speedo drive from the differential but was manufactured prior to ABS brake system being fitted. The replacement binnacle had been removed from a car fitted with ABS and therefore it had to be ascertained that the low fluid level warning light on Pauls pre ABS master cylinder would illuminate the warning light on the new binnacle. Fortunately when the low level circuit was tested the warning light did illuminate.
The serial number printed on the bottom of the original speedo matched the replacement so hopefully it was a matter of plug and play.
Not quite. Various warning light bulbs failed to operate so time was spent cleaning up the contacts and changing out bulbs until all was well. The same applied to the 5 binnacle back lighting bulbs.
The problematic rheostat which initially functioned to adjust the brightness of the binnacle lights was promptly bypassed allowing full battery voltage to be applied to the bulb circuits which provided adequate illumination.
