Full service history
I bought this bike from a friend of mine who owned it for over ten years. I bought it with the sole intention of doing the North Coast 500, which I did over the summer and the bike performed flawlessly. It was the perfect bike for the trip – comfortable, quick and surprisingly economical (I was getting about 55-60mpg). As an added bonus it has heated grips, a rear rack and a comfort seat. I’ve also got the original seat, a touring screen and a Triumph carbon can which will be included.
History:
At 26K it had:
A complete service including valve clearances done (receipts to prove)
I bought it at 27K and, in preparation for a ride to Scotland, I wanted to make sure it was perfect, so I did the following:
New battery
New tyres (Pirelli Diablo)
New oil & filter (Mobil1 10W50)
New air filter
New spark plugs
New fork oil (Mobil1)
New brake fluid
New fuel filter
I also replaced the known weak point of the Sprint – the cheap plastic fuel connectors. They are known for becoming brittle and can break and leak fuel. I didn’t want to risk this so I replaced them with steel CPC connectors (stupidly expensive for what they are, but they’ll probably outlive the bike!).
Just last week I fitted a brand new chain & sprockets (DID Gold X-Ring & JT Sprockets) – see photos.
As you can probably tell, I didn’t intend on selling this bike, but I have other bikes that are demanding my time and money, so the ST has drawn the short straw and it’s time for someone else to enjoy it. It’s been a brilliant bike for me and with all that I’ve put into it in the last 2K miles it wants nothing other than to be ridden.
