EXTERIOR
With just 46k miles to its name, this superb 265 Trophy presents in remarkable condition throughout. The gleaming black paintwork remains glossy, and all panels are straight and true. The only negatives to report are a light peppering of stone chips towards the front of the car. The red ‘Trophy’ decals to be found on each door and the front bumper are in perfect condition, subtly hinting at the performance-focused nature of this particular model.
INTERIOR
All too often this is where Renaults fall short, the interior build quality. However, this example clearly defies that rule, remaining in excellent condition throughout. There is no damage in any of the usual places such as the steering wheel, gear knob, and switchgear, etc. – even the delicate bolsters of the Recaro bucket seats are in fine order. The original Renault Sport overmats are immaculate and the special edition plaque remains in place showing the car to be number 4 of only 50 UK examples.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The mechanicals of the Megane have always been maintained to the highest standards. Thanks to a revised intake system and turbo boost increase from 2. 3bar to 2. 5bar the Trophy edition produced 261hp. The engine bay is extremely clean and there are 10 service stamps in the original maintenance booklet. The last service was carried out in May 2021 at 44k miles. The timing belt and water pump were both replaced in 2020 at 41k miles. The six-speed manual gearbox performs perfectly with no crunches between any gears.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The Trophy sits on 19-inch Speedline alloy wheels finished in black with a red edging line. All four wheels were refurbished to the highest standard by our trusted specialists Lepsons in October and remain in perfect condition. The alloys are shod in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, as fitted in May 2021 along with new front discs and pads.
HISTORY FILE
This exceptional Renault Megane 265 Trophy was first registered in September 2011. It has now driven 45k miles in the hands of only 3 keepers from new, the current keeper having owned it since 2013. It’s accompanied by a comprehensive service history with 10 stamps in the original service booklet; these services were carried out at the following mileage: 13, 567 – 16, 107 – 16, 155 – 23, 487 – 27, 244 – 30, 834 – 33, 365 – 35, 604 – 39, 080 – and most recently at 44, 724 miles in May 2021.
