They were only produced at the end of w202 model production from 05. 2000 until 01. 2001. with worldwide production lhd and rhd of only x1651. i do not know how many rhd uk cars were sold.... but in my five or so years of always keeping an eye out for Sport model w202 for sale I have never seen another one for sale with the 2. 6 V6 engine.
The w202 is finally now gaining recognition for its robust nature and legendary design and build quality with the best cars are now going up in value. The sport w202 versions drive so so well... in fact better than modern Mercedes you would be amazed at the solid old world Merc feel mixed with a sporty more lightweight nature. The 'sport' version is the best model i feel and was the production line model that an AMG car was based on. The sport has lowered and stiffer suspension using Bilstein units, multilink rear suspension, sport seats, faux carbon interior trim, special 16" wheels, ESR, ac, electric windows, front and side airbags, electronic key etc.
My car has all of the above, plus as a run out end of the line car also features folding mirrors, chrome gear lever surround, alloy pedals.
