The base vehicle is a Dodge 100 Hi-Line with a Perkins (green top) straight six 6ltr diesel engine. With only 45, 000 miles on the clock she is barely run in.
Originally commissioned by Lady Inchape [the family seat is Carlock House, Glenapp, Ballantrae, Ayrshire) and built by Lambournes of Newbury, Lady Doris (for that is her name) represents the cutting edge of technology at the time. The fact that she holds her own today is testament to good old fashioned British quality. The rear box is aluminium so there is zero chance of rot and/ or leaks. She was commissioned as a pair – the other vehicle being a horse-box - that took Lady Inchape and her entourage around the UK to various horse races.
