Welcome to the sale of this great survivor item that not many of us wish survived a 1978 Austin Allegro LE special. The car is a very rare LE which only a handful are known to have survived, the LE came with stripes, some fancy trim, classy brown interior and a choice of zesty green or baby blue!
The car itself is a really solid example thanks to alot of its life being overseas, the underside and all the arches still maintain their blue paint and it doesn't look as if the car has ever been painted. The body has some patina but is all very solid and gives the car that little bit of character, it even has the original Henley's reg plates on it! The baby blue really is a wonderful colour.
Inside all the brown goodness is still in pretty good condition and is surprisingly very comfortable! There is some heat related wear in places mainly on the rear seat top and fading of some of the trim but apart from that its all nice and even has the square wheel.
Mechanically this little Austin does run and drive very well, the engine has just undergone a head gasket change so is running well. The gearbox is all smooth and the brakes do as they should. I've also recently had the suspension re leveled due to a small leak on a pipe which has now been replaced.
This is the ideal car for quirky shows and is ready to be enjoyed! I have loads of pictures upon request and can help with delivery if needed.
