Additional info on the Majestic model.

In October 1992, at the British Motor Show, Jaguar announced a new production XJ40 variant, mainly for the British market, which would bear the Majestic name. Not to be confused with the American special edition model, by the way. By partially redesigning the existing XJ40 body, it was possible to create a 125mm wider wheelbase, all of which was effected behind the B/ C pillars. This gave the rear passengers significantly more space in the rear. You could say cynically that this was just a continuation of previous Jaguar practices when they increased the wheelbase of the Series 1, with the same going for the Series 2 XJs in the 1970s. However, with the XJ40 Jaguar/ Daimler has gone a step further as the roofline has been raised to the rear to create more headroom in the rear compartment. The extra length necessitated the manufacture of new rear door frames and skins, window frames and glass, and even a new rear side window and rear window. All this extra work was done by a company call ed Project Aerospace in Coventry. In each case a full normal body shell was used at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich factory site. There the bodywork was modified with additional metal and the underbody was reinforced, then a new roof panel was fitted and the completed special Majestic bodywork was transported to Castle Bromwich. There it went through the standard Jaguar paint shop. The bodywork was then transported to Browns Lane and specifically to Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) department for cladding and finishing work. The precious Majestic models could be built in either Jaguar or Daimler form with 3. 2 liter, 4. 0 liter or 6. 0 liter engine displacements and were intended to meet the needs of owners who extra interior space. Whether or not in the fairly new Insignia trim at the time. In reality, the cars were too expensive and time-consuming to build, so only about 50 were produced in total.
