I had sold this car, but the buyer dropped out at the last moment due to needing hospital urgent treatment. Hence the car is being offered for sale again.

Project car, it requires work. please read on.
I have got the work started to get this working and roadworthy, but i am considering letting the car go at this stage to make time for other cars. if the right buyer comes along. if not i will continue with it in time and get it back on the road.

Genuine 1989 JaguarSport XJ40 XJR 3. 6-A, made in conjunction with TWR. 252 of these 3. 6 models were made.
The fifth character in the VIN is "P" which denotes its a genuine factory built Jaguarsport model.

The MOT Expired 16th October 2020. It requires some welding to the floors, sills and front inner arch, to pass another MOT.

It starts, runs well, drives, and stops.

Most of the history has been lost by past owners, though i do have a few receipts and a number of past MOT’s going back. Plus a XJR brochure.

The Good.
original looking car. its all there. non of the rare parts are missing. including the 16” Speedline alloy wheels, full Fibre Glass bodykit in good order, yellow Bilstein sports shocks, Momo Steering wheel, Sport embossed XJR seats, LSD, Thicker ARB, Sport steering rack with less assistance, Pirelli tyres all round with good tread and the tow eye cover!
Fibre Glass body kit is very good for one of these. Unique to these early XJR models. it even has the lower rear lip on the back bumper, which are very often damage or missing.
rare option of heated seats.
The car has been painted before. its not a perfect job, but certainly its much better than it will have been prior to the new paint job.
All door handles fully working! I have Adjusted/ lubricated all door handles/ latches- NSR latch & rod replaced, so get them all working. Anyone who has owned an early model 40, will know what I am talking about here.
Fixed screen washer jet

New wiper blade fitted
4x door veneers Replaced
NGK spark plugs fitted all round.
leads/ Rotor arm/ cap. Checked & cleaned.
VCM checked- no fault codes
Checked Duck bill is clear.
checked sun roof drains/ cleared
Vent veneers repaired
Number. Plate lamps fitted.
Aerial rubber grommet replaced
Aerial checked/ lubricated/ greased internal gears. fully working.
Horn works
Wiper works
Radio works
sunroof works
Fan blowers work - all speeds.
Mirrors work.
Tested all bulbs/ replaced bulbs
Tow eye cover fitted.
Sun visor clips replaced
HSMO not leaking- accumulator seems to be good.
Fluids topped up
Air filter replaced
Headlamp Washer jet caps replaced- new.
Front indicator lenses replaced good used
Bonnet gas struts replaced good used
Trans fluid is good/ pink. transmission changes smoothly.
Changed screws for headlamp washers
Fixed boot badge on RH side
Glued on B post trim OS
Cleaned fuel filler gator
2x chrome rings for plungers replaced.
repaired vanity mirrors.
all the boot carpets are present.

The digital dash display can be intermittent (common 3. 6 era fault), though its working at the moment.
Drivers window switch pack faulty - (windows were previously working, but now 2/ 4 don’t work on the switch.
requires a Battery strap
requires oil and filter change ideally.
there are various small areas of corrosion breaking out in some of the usual places for these. I have photographed them. 200 pics available on my dropbox account. email to ask for the download link.
CL not working currently.
LH screen washer not working
Headlining- pinned for now. Ideally requires replacing.
boot floor has had water leaks and has seen better days. i have cleaned it up and painted it to protect, but it needs some of the bungs replacing.
spare wheel cover is coming apart. ideally replace.
Some of the veneers are cracking/ flaking. Ideally would benefit from further replacements. I have changed some already from my stock. The ski slope and ash tray have lost most of their lacquer now.

My Location is Boston, South Lincolnshire, PE20, UK. Ideally come and view the car.
