Description
Offered for sale is my Black Series 2 (Y4) 2. 1 TD VSX with black leather interior and custom finished Speedline Alloy wheels. The vehicle currently has MOT until September 2022.
I've owned this car for over two years and have invested considerably in it to both keep it running as it should and to improve it. Recent works have included:
- Cam belt/ tensioners/ water pump replaced
- Replaced all 3 engine mounts
- Welding to sills, inner wheel arches for MOT requirements and bodywork improvement
- Replaced brake dowser valve
- New front brake pads
- New front anti-roll bar drop links
- New front tyres
- New battery
- Replaced front brake hose (2 spares also supplied)
- Re-sprayed: bonnet, door mirrors, roof, near side quarter panel, rear boot lid (so no poor lacquer or paint fade)
- New fuel priming pump
- Replaced ignition barrel and frond door lock barrels
- New rear boot lid gas struts (rear 13th inner window is in place)
Prior to my purchase in 2019 the previous owner had conducted extensive maintenance/ improvement work himself including:
- All 6 spheres replaced with brand new
- Wheels refurbished
- Hydro flushed suspension/ hydraulics then fresh LHM added
- All electric window pulleys/ mechanisms refurbished (all work perfectly)
- Sunroof replaced with refurbished cassette (see below on issues)
Like any 26 year old car there are a few jobs to do including the sunroof that is not operating properly (possibly a micro switch?), rear wash is not working (wiper is working), both digital LCD screens need replacing, nearside rear window trim rubber damaged but replacement supplied.
Key areas of engine, gearbox and suspension are all strong on this car. The bodywork is ok but not perfect. Respray work has been mentioned above but body showing a few dinks and the chrome side strips need refurbishment. I'd give it a 7-7. 5 out of 10 for body condition. Drivers seat needs small repair (stitching, not tear).

I've loved and enjoyed this car hugely but with other cars, family and two greyhounds to keep running it's time for someone else to enjoy it and help keep XM numbers on the road up!
