Description
I have reluctantly decided to sell my 1956 Model 50, 350cc single. In lovely condition and running well, it really is as nice as it looks, and has it's correct-for-year Wellworth alloy head. It is a matching numbers bike that was restored a little while ago, I believe.
I bought it 15 months ago and had it couriered from it's Aberdeen home, where it had been since first registered. When it arrived I realised that the last digit in the frame and engine numbers didn't match the V5C, and so started a 15 month long battle with DVLA to retain it's original number. Despite lots of help from the NOC which proves it was sent to Aberdeen from the factory, a bureaucratic jobsworth in the DVLA reckons I cannot keep the original number it has worn for 75 years and will have to re-register it. At this point, I have had enough, and with several other bikes to ride I have reluctantly decided to pass it on. It will need a NOVA number from HMCE (free I believe) and the £55 fee to get a new number. I have the dating information and factory record from the NOC.
I was going to ask £5k for it, but for a quick sale will it it go for £4500 as I just can't bear to deal with DVLA again. No swaps or deals thanks, as I need to reduce my fleet of bikes, as with a disabled wife I don't get much chance to ride any more. I am in Milton Keynes, Bucks, post code MK13.
