Ex-California, rust free and beautifully preserved 1978 Champagne Edition still in its original Agate paint with factory body stickers still intact. Original carpets & curtains, original interior cabinets including gas hob, sink and fridge all original and in full working order. 2 litre fuel injection engine which has just been fully rebuilt by VW specialist at a cost of 5000 pounds and runs very sweetly indeed. Sleeps 4 adults and has a child's hammock bed over the front seats too, and also has two rear seat belts one of which is a three point belt suitable for a baby seat. We have enjoyed touring in this for the last few years as well as being a fabulous day van and kept the servicing, maintenance and undersealing up to date, with regular MOTs despite now being exempt. Being a rare Champagne edition it has tinted windows, special brown dashboard with large quartz-crystal clock (still working!) intermittent wipers and full length chrome bumpers with rubber insert. This is a lovely and robust thing with so many details to enjoy and comfortable motorway cruising speeds thanks to the bigger, fuel injected engine. The only 'upgrade' we have done is to fit a Propex LPG heater discreetly in the spare wheel cupboard for hot air cabin comfort, together with a larger under-body LPG tank (original US tank comes with the van but doesn't meet current safety specs). This beautiful van needs nothing and is ready for the summer. It has a substantial history file including fresh MOT and VW Heritage 'birth certificate'.
