For sale: my Suzuki Cappuccino, owned and loved by me since 2003.
Mot till 29th April 2023.
Starts perfectly every time, runs beautifully and is great fun to drive, you can't resist smiling when the turbo kicks in and the little green light on the dash comes on.
The paintwork is in good condition with one or two little marks, the aluminium roof panels not so pristine as they have had a paintwork touch up in the past but the seals are still good and don't leak.
The worst part is the drivers side door top where the window slides down. The coating is peeling off the metal underneath.
It doesn't affect the operation of course but looks slightly untidy.
The roof functions as it should, with the three panels releasing smoothly and I have the original bags for them to be stored in the boot.
The rear screen slides down and locks smoothly, and with the electric windows down all you have above the bonnet is the windscreen!
The electric windows, fan, heater and rear screen heater are all in perfect order.
It has the original clarion cassette stereo with a six cd changer in the boot, and even has the original antenna in its original sleeve, also in the boot.
The interior is in good condition, the seats are black vinyl so are rain resistant if you get caught out. It has cappuccino stamped carpets and a (tiny) lockable central console, as well as a locking glove compartment.
The original alloy wheels are a little dirty, mostly due to copper slip from the wheel studs, but I haven't had time to enthusiastically scrub with a toothbrush for many years now.
The original tool kit is present, with a space saver spare wheel under the boot carpet.
The only thing not working at present is the air conditioning, as the condenser needed replacing. I have the new condenser ready to fit but have not had time to do so yet, it will be included in the sale if I haven't done it by then. This doesn't affect the use of the car.
The car and I were members of the suzuki cappuccino owners register for enthusiasts (SCORE) for many years.
Through them I bought the boot rack, which is the only optional extra on an otherwise totally original car (possibly the cd changer is an extra but it was already on the car so I'm not sure)
The boot rack allows you to store the roof in the boot and still be able to take luggage, as the roof takes up the entire boot!
The car was waxoyled annually for the first ten years of my ownership, but as I used it less and less I lapsed a bit until it was sorned.
I am using the car now when I can so the milage will go up but not by very much.
Its only been used in the summer, and sorned during the winter because of the salt.
I have a large stack of service history, including lots of suzuki garage invoices, the original owners manual and UK supplement manual supplied with genuine imports, the manuals for the stereo and cd changer, previous hpi checks and mot certificates.
There is also the original advertising leaflet inviting you to test drive the car, and a letter sent in 1995 to all cappuccino owners to register interest in optional extras.
I have all the history that came with the car, and paperwork for everything in my ownership.
Originally 1, 182 cappuccinos were imported from Japan with the UK specifications, so they are really quite rare.
According to howmanyleft website there are only 187 left on the road.
Fuel economy is incredible, being such a tiny car, and you can park in tiny spaces (I used to take the roof off to drive under the University car park barrier so I could park in the moped spaces as no one else used them)
I'm very sad to part with my car but since my daughter was born I don't use it enough to do it justice, having only two seats.
I will miss it sadly but if someone else enjoys it half as much as I have then she'll be well looked after.
