We are pleased to offer this rare version of the Daimler 420 Sovereign. Presented in Opalescent Golden Sand with tan leather interior, this example is one of the very few manual/ overdrive cars built and comes with the bonus of power steering.
This Daimler 420 Sovereign has a chassis number 1A32454DN. This denotes a Daimler Sovereign 420 with 4. 2 litre engine mated to a manual transmission with DeNormanville overdrive and power steering. It was number 19 out of 2128 vehicles manufactured during 1968. The engine number is 7A327138 and matches the car; prefix 7A with 4A prefix body number.

New brakes, radiator, stainless steel exhaust, roof lining, stainless steel wheels, valves, rear prop drive, Mota-Lita steering wheel, complete clutch and rebuilt carburettors.
The log book records three previous keepers and it looks as though, from the MoT test history, that the car has only covered 2, 000 miles in the last six years.
The car presents very well with its colour combinations and is further complimented by the stainless steel wire wheels. The tan leather is patinated whilst the woodwork, although all there, could do with a tidy up, however, this does not detract from the feel of opulence when inside the car. A new West of England, wool headlining is fitted.
Mechanically, this Sovereign has only covered, in the region of, 3000 miles since an engine rebuild. Other works include a rebuilt overdrive unit, rebuilt carburettors, a stainless steel Falcon exhaust system, Lumenition electronic ignition new alternator and radiator. The braking system has been overhauled with a new master cylinder, pads, discs, and rebuilt callipers. Fuel is supplied by the new fuel pumps. The engine is very powerful with no evidence of smoking. The brakes pull the car up to a halt sharply.
This example has not had a lot of use over recent years and may require some re-commissioning, however, this is a very sold and good looking car having had the expensive mechanicals done and being offered with the most desirable options that also incudes the factory fitted steering lock.
This Sovereign comes with a UK V5C registration document, invoices listing parts and works plus an original Owner’s Handbook.
These cars are fabulous on the road, especially in the manual/ overdrive format; basically a four door E-Type.
