Description
The “Park Lane” models were full size cars produced by Ford’s Mercury division from 1958 until 1968. The second generation arrived in 1964, then, in 1965 there was a substantial redesign, with styling cues taken from the Lincoln Continental. Although the underpinnings were Ford, the body styling was Mercury’s own and had a passing resemblance to the Lincoln Continental. Three engines were available, 390, 410 or 428ci.
This car is a 1966 Park Lane 410ci convertible in Caspian Blue. It is in beautiful condition and was treated to a very expensive body off restoration in the U. S, 20 years ago although it has been in the UK since 2011. In July 2015 it was featured, in a four page article in “Classic American” magazine and it has also been shown at various prestigious events including the Goodwood Revival.
The body and paint are in superb order and the underside is in fantastic condition as is the original interior and under-bonnet. It also drives beautifully and despite its size is very quick with extremely willing power from the 330hp rated 410ci Marauder engine.
We are offering this car on behalf of a customer although it has been garaged with us for the last five years and only used on high days and holidays.
