Description
This exceptional Triumph TR4 has been subject to a full body off, nut and bolt rebuild and arrives with us having covered in the region of 1500 miles since completion. The TR4 was imported as a rust free car from California in 2015 and was then stripped down to the bare chassis. A detailed photo record accompanies a comprehensive file of invoices supporting the major program of work, along with owner’s manual, spare keys, California number plate and UK MOT records.
The bare chassis was painted and built up with renewed brakes, suspension and steering, the engine was stripped down and rebuilt with new big end bearings, main bearings, pistons, liners, crank seals and new timing chain. The engine was rebuilt by long standing renowned performance engine engineers who we have worked with for many years and ultra low mileage has been covered since they rebuilt the four-cylinder unit.
The bodyshell off the chassis was taken back to metal and professionally painted including floor pans, then re-fitted to the chassis and built up with new brightwork, rubbers, seals and gaskets. The interior was fully re-trimmed, more comfortable modern leather seats fitted, and a new walnut dash fitted and new hood fitted. The TR4 was treated to a new wiring loom, renewed cooling and fuel system and electronic ignition and put on a set of re-furbished steel wheels and new tyres.
As result of the recent restoration, the TR4 presents beautifully with a gleaming, impressive paint finish, stunning renewed chrome and has a sharp, straight bodyshell and superb chassis. The underside is outstanding, and the interior beautifully finished with usability and comfort for long distance touring in mind. The engine bay is gleaming, and on the road this tight, responsive, strong TR4 is wonderful offering a fantastic 1960's open top driving experience.
