EXTERIOR
As one of only 207 examples ever produced in right-hand drive this UK-supplied 3. 0 CSi is a rare beast indeed. Finished in sublime Sienna Brown and Gold, the car presents beautifully beneath our studio lighting. The period two-tone paintwork remains in outstanding overall condition with a deep and uniform shine across every panel. On closer inspection there are very few imperfections to report, and certainly nothing to detract from the car’s highly impressive finish. Unlike many other “restored” E9s this one still feels really solid, with even panel gaps and no signs of any previous poor repair work. All the chrome looks fantastic – especially the CSL wheel arch flares – and the fit of the rubber seals and trims is excellent.

INTERIOR
The airy cream leather interior is a perfect complement to the exterior paintwork. Having been fully re-trimmed to a very high standard in recent years the seats remain in fabulous condition and look almost as new. Elsewhere the door cards and other vinyl trims appear to be original, and all remain in very nice shape. The wood-trimmed dashboard and centre console are also original and while not 100% perfect present with just the right level of patina in our opinion. Up above, the headlining is pristine, and in the footwells you’ll find a set of high quality overmats. Some nice period additions include a leather-trimmed Moto-Lita sports steering wheel and a 5-speed gearbox. The cabin is further equipped with a Sony CD player and Parrot hands-free kit for modern day convenience although these could easily be swapped out should the new keeper so desire.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The engine bay is very well presented, not overly dressed but in excellent original condition – a real testament to the car’s careful ownership since new. Reading through the accompanying History File it’s evident that this E9 has always been maintained to a high level with bills since 1993 totaling circa £32k. Since 2015 the current owner has invested an eye-watering £14, 500 on general maintenance and repairs, ensuring his pride and joy remains in tip-top mechanical and cosmetic condition.

WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The E9 sits on attractive 15-inch Alpina wheels, all in perfect condition having recently been refurbished to a very high standard, including the spare. They are wrapped in a matching set of Dunlop Sport BluResponse tyres with ample tread left. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, effortlessly bringing the car to a stop quickly and in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
This rare 70s sharknose was supplied new by BMW Concessionaires GB Limited in April 1975. It is one of just 207 3. 0 CSIs built in right-hand drive, and one of far less still on the road today. Estimated numbers from ‘The BMW Club UK’ are around 120, making the 3. 0 CSi one of the rarest BMWs in the world. A true gentleman’s carriage costing twice the price of an E-Type Jaguar back in the day!

Within the History File the lucky new owner will be presented with a thick raft of invoices, documentation, and MOT certificates dating all the way back to 1981. There is also a spare set of keys, an original owners handbook, an issue of BMW Car magazine from September 2011 when the car was heavily featured, a BMW Classic certificate confirming its factory build spec, and the V5C showing 8 former keepers.
