EXTERIOR
Finished in World Rally Blue, surely one of the best colours for an STI, this attractive “bug eye” Impreza has seen just one owner for the entirety of its life. The paintwork is in generally good order and has cleaned up well following a machine polish by our in-house detailer. All the glass appears original, and the headlights are crystal clear. In line with the mileage there is a reasonable dusting of frontal stone chips, a small number of discreetly touched in marks and blemishes, and a handful of minor dents of varying sizes, the worst of these being on the nearside rear door and to the leading edge of the bonnet – nothing that a couple of hours with the dent man wouldn’t sort. With a little light cosmetic work this one owner STI could be made excellent.
INTERIOR
The STI sports seats present in good condition with no rips or major damage. A small amount of expected wear is visible on the bolsters but certainly nothing untoward given the mileage. Other commonly worn items such as the leather steering wheel, gear knob and hand brake lever all remain in fine order with only a few small ring marks on the edge of the wheel. Some areas of the dashboard, centre console, and door cards have also picked up a few marks over the years but otherwise the cabin is a very nice, original place to be – even the factory Subaru CD/ cassette player remains in place. In the footwells you’ll find a set of protective overmats and at the rear of the car the boot area is very clean with no stains or damage to report.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Inside the original service booklet there are 10 stamps, 9 of which are from the original supplying Subaru dealer Bell & Colvill (Horsley) Limited, as detailed below. Since 2014 the Impreza has been looked after and MOT’d by the owner’s trusted local workshop, G. Chandler Ltd, Elstead. Since arriving with us the car has been fully inspected and was reported to be in sound and unmodified mechanical condition, the technician additionally remarking on just how well it drove.

WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The Impreza sits on its original alloy gold wheels, all in perfect unmarked condition having only recently been refurbished to a very high standard. They are shod in Pirelli PZero tyres all round, the fronts having been replaced in May this year just a few miles ago. The Brembo brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, effortlessly bringing the car to a stop quickly and in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
This handsome STI Type UK was supplied to its first and only keeper by Bell & Colvill Subaru in January 2002. The first 9 services were also carried out by Bell & Colvill, although since then the car has been looked after solely by the owner’s local independent garage who last saw it in May this year at 100, 030 miles. Since arriving at 4 Star we have had our own mechanical inspection carried out for the new keeper’s peace of mind.
Given its mileage this may not be one for the collector but, given the provenance, it’s certainly not one to be missed. With a few small jobs completed it could be lifted to an excellent standard, or simply be driven and enjoyed as is.
