The Dutch VW general importer Ben Pon gave the impetus for Volkswagen to build a Transporter. He sketched a closed transporter with a rear engine. This is how the famous VW bus and delivery van came about. It was presented to journalists in November 1949 after a development period of just 51 weeks.
Our VW T1 bus was built in 1963. The current owner had the classic car thoroughly restored. Technical features are front disc brakes, headrests and seat belts as well as a more powerful engine with approx. 60 hp. Added to this was high-quality camping equipment. The lovingly cared for classic has been on long journeys in Europe since 2016, up to now approx. 20, 000 km. The camper is registered in Germany.
