1958 Cadillac Sedan Deville 6. 0 Litre V8 Automatic (4 Door). Imported and first registered in the UK on 1 July 1987. Highly attractive pink colour scheme with complementary interior and believed to be the only one of its kind currently for sale in the UK. 5 former keepers. Automatic transmission (3 Speed). Power steering. Electric windows.
Sony CD player and speakers. Comfortably seats 6 including the driver. All original body parts still intact (including wind splits) except small chrome trim missing under right hand side headlight. All upholstery is intact and there are no rips or tears in the seats. 4 new white wall tyres fitted 4 months ago. The vehicle has been in the same ownership for approximately 14 years and has been kept in storage for the last 7 years or so. The vehicle has just returned from one of the very best American car garages in the UK and the following work has just been completed at cost of almost £5, 000 in order to ensure that the vehicle is mechanically sound and roadworthy: -
• New spark plugs and reset
• Brake booster replaced (almost £1, 000 alone)
• All metal and flexi brake pipes replaced
• Brake shoes and drums removed and cleaned
• Brakes pressured bled and reassembled
• Wheel cylinders removed and rebuilt
• Exhaust manifold repaired
• Engine tuned
• Hub seal and shock absorber replaced on LH front wheel
• Wiper motor repaired
• Control valve replaced
• New battery fitted
• Suspension and drive shaft lubricated
• Petrol pipe to tank replaced
• Holes in boot repaired.
Whilst the car can be described as in good condition, it does however require some TLC on the bodywork. There are bubbles of rust appearing in some places and the chrome in some parts needs to be machine polished. In order to make the body work perfect, it will need a full respray. There is also some minor electrical work required such as the electric windows. The windows open but struggle to close. These are all minor things in the grand scheme of things and can easily be rectified by a keen owner. Unfortunately, I do not have any history paperwork with the vehicle (other than the receipt for the above works) as it was stolen in a burglary in 2014. I would be happy to provide a copy of the Police report to verify this. This model of Deville was updated for 1958 with a new grille and quad headlamps. Overseen by the legendary Harley Earl, everything from the rubber guards on the front bumpers, to the chrome caps on the rear wings are styled to the max. As Cadillac’s own literature stated, the 1958 Series Sixty-Two Sedan is “a rare masterpiece that makes an automobile desirable”. It is believed that approximately 13, 300 were built so it is unlikely that there are many left and certainly not in the kind of condition as being offered considering it is 64 years old.
