For sale due to increasing lack of use is my 1995 Brilliant Silver E300 Diesel Estate. I have owned the car for around a year and have covered 10k miles, though little of that has been in the last month or so, hence I am listing the car for sale.
The car has covered 260k miles, though its overall condition denies it. Most of the mileage has been amassed in the last 10 years, and it must have been garaged for most of its life as it has managed to escape the ravages of tin worm that kills most late model W124s. The jamming points, inner wings and sub frame mounts are all totally solid, as are the inner load space windows.
The car was fitted with Diva AC, which didn’t work when I bought the car, and had plenty of typical electronic issues, as well as a dud compressor so at vast expense I have had the whole system re-wired to a new internal thermostat and new compressor. The AC is now ice cold! Additionally I have fitted a Continental Bluetooth radio and upgraded dash speakers.
It has had new front brakes and anti roll bar bushes in my ownership and has been serviced. I will ensure it has a fresh oil service prior to sale as it was last done 5k miles ago. It is fitted with Goodyear all season tyres which have plenty of tread remaining.
Bodywork is better than it has any right to be after 260k miles, the car is totally presentable and shines beautifully, save for the odd stone chip and mark commensurate with use. There is no rust.
Inside is pretty much perfect, there is no wear to the drivers seat, or staining to the light grey upholstery or carpets. It is a 7 seater and has a genuine Merc plastic load liner in the boot. There are no water ingress issues with this car - the only S124 I have had which does not leak somewhere!
The car has an encyclopaedic service history - the last owner (13-21) spent £13k on servicing and maintenance, which can be felt in the way this car drives. I have had loads of W124s and this one is proper. The engine starts and runs sweetly, it rides and steers perfectly and was along as only an old Mercedes can.
Everything in the car works as it should, infra red remote locking included, and the car is ready to use and go anywhere in. The car is available for viewing and inspection and I doubt you will find better for less than double the asking price.
