A real Performance car & seriously fast. This car has benefitted from a recent restoration & rebuild in excess of 400, 000 euros by vintage car specialists Historic Cometition services. The 4. 5 litre engine has been bored out to close to 5 litres & rebuilt using modern perfomance internals making this a very potent machine indeed. There are full pictures available of the engine & mechanical rebuild.
The body on the car has been redone as per the original with a supebly crafted ash frame clad in hand rolled aluminium panels. It was then painted in burgundy with the paint being fresh, unmarked & beautiful. The car is the epoitome of a pre war rally car & has run umerous times in the Mille Miglia in the 1990's. The bucket style seats are supportive & covered in antiqued tobacco coloured leather. Twin spare shell fuel cans are located on the passengers side frame. To the rear is a useful luggage storage area accessed by a cunningly concealed lever in the cockpit affording good security when the car is unattended.
Condition wise the car is like new. Everything that could be done to the car has been done to it without regard to expense. Not much is known for sure of this particular car before about 1984 but information we have from that time indicates that it had a pre-war racing history dating back to the 1930s. In 1932 a similar car to Chassis LC 253 was used in the Brooklands Mountain Championship. Again driver Dudley Froy used a slightly later model and finished 4th place in the 1932 race at Brooklands. For this purpose his vehicle was equipped with an alloy race body similar to the one on this car.
The LC Invicta was probably the best-looking sportcar of it’s period with massive performance and many records set by this type of Invicta in period, many by the famous lady driver Violet Cordery. Including driving round the UK in top gear! With a light-weight body in combination with a powerful 4. 5 ltr Meadows engine this contemporary un-supercharged motor will surprise you with its amazingly flexible yet extremely powerful engine. Especially as this particular car is equipped with an even more powerful performance enhanced engine. From day one this model was a very competitive race car! And Invicta were rightly regarded as a very serious force on the race tracks of pre-way England.
You really have to drive this car to appreciate how well it has been done & what perfomance it has. It is eligble for numerous events such as Goodwood & the Mille Miglia, along with the Lemans Classic etc where it is likely to be highly competitive given its ferocious performance.

The story surrounding this Invicta is very special and deserves to be broadly told. In July 1999 the first owner in England got a tip about a 1932 1 ½ chassis. The chassis had been saved from the scrapheap in the 60’s and after extended negotiations was brought over to Invicta specialist Rob Pollock’s workshop. The ...
