Launched at the 1935 London Motor Show, the SA Sports Saloon was manufactured from October 1935 to late 1939. 1945 SA saloons were made, of which less than 10% are known to have survived today. The saloon is 4. 92 metres long and weighs 1511kg. The straight six 2322cc engine is fitted with twin SU carburettors, a “wet” clutch running in a bath of oil and a 4 speed annual gearbox with synchromesh on 3rd and 4th gears.
This car was originally supplied by Dewsbury Garage, Yorkshire on 10th November 1937. It was purchased by the previous owner for £140 in 1951 and remained in his ownership until April 2015. The car was completely restored in 2000-2001, since when it is reported to have covered only 4000 miles until it was bought by the present owner and imported into Cyprus in June 2015.
This car is still in very good condition, starts first time and runs well. In the last few years various improvements to improve drivability in modern conditions have been made including a recored radiator, revised fan, Kevlar clutch plate, electric power steering, led lighting conversion, alternator and new batteries
