A stunning example of this first edition superbike. Very low mileage having covered just 14240 miles from new, which can be verified through mot check on dvla.
it is a late registered first edition r1 4xv in lovely condition - i understand from previous owner, who had done a little research, that the bike was originally bought from padgett's and spent a good few years in a private collection, covering very little miles before he bought it. I have checked yamaha database and it is a first edition, with matching vin number to yamaha database.
oil and filter change- last year at 13, 500 miles along with full brake fluid change and new sbs brake pads on rear.
metzeler m9 rr tyres fitted last year at a cost of around £300, and think they have covered about 1200 miles or so only.
new yuasa battery also fitted in 2021, and, importantly, i had a a k-tech front suspension damping upgrade carried out last year at cost of £400. ( only visible difference is red bolts on base of forks, rather than silver) and a lot better than original damping.)
the bike is superb and ready to go, really needs nothing.
comes with rare pillion seat cowl, and is factory spec apart from front suspension upgrade and also a new, original profile mra screen just fitted - and arrow steering damper as pictured, which was on the bike when i bought it.
i have an owners manual and 2 keys, but service book was lost by the owner/ collector's wife who was selling his collection, however it has clearly been cherished by all owners. Last owner serviced it just before i bought it, which i have a record of, including carb clean/ set up, and as i say i also changed oil and filter recently, and the brake fluids.
examples like this are few and far between in this condition, and especially mileage.
must be one of the best remaining examples of these iconic superbikes.
i think it stands up extremely well in terms of price compared to other similar 4xv's on the market given very mileage and condition, and has investment potential too- good ones should continue to rise in price as values have gone up recently for the best examples, so worth buying one sooner rather than later.
